"After going through the revolving doors for 2 1/2 years with my son, and never giving up the fight , my son finally received the help that he so desperately needed through the Forensic department at San Joaquin Behaviral Health Services (SJCBHS).
I personally couldn't have done this alone, NAMI SJC was by my side 24 hours a day, always there for support and information. My family and I went through Family to Family classes that really guided us and supported us through our journey of mental illness. The individuals of NAMI SJC are not just a support group they are and will always be family, I am forever grateful to NAMI SJC....Their dedication is profound!

I always felt that I was alone in this all new and scary mental illness world.  I went at it alone for quite some time always feeling I was drowning in so many unknowns and what ifs then a friend mentioned her son was diagnosed with schizophernia and I said wow, my husband was diagnosed last year!  She mentioned NAMI San Joaquin County and said she was going to go to a meeting and would I go with her.  Since my first meeting I have felt understood, cared about and found a great amount of support and problem solving helpers in my NAMI SJC.
